52.9.0esr was the last supported release for Windows XP and Windows Vista. No further security updates will be provided for those systems.
In Firefox versions prior to 7.0. (Firefox version 1.0) supported macOS (then called Mac OS X) on the PowerPC architecture. IE 6 launched more swiftly than Firefox 1.5 on Windows XP since many of its components were built into the OS and loaded during system startup.
Why has Firefox ended support for Windows XP and Vista users? Firefox was one of the last browsers to offer any support for Windows XP and Vista. Microsoft itself ended support for Windows XP in and support for Windows Vista in. Unsupported operating systems receive no security updates, have known exploits, and can be dangerous to use, which makes it difficult to maintain Firefox on those versions. Will switching to a different browser keep me protected? Unfortunately not.
Most browsers (such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer) have already ended support for Windows XP and Windows Vista. Can I still browse safely with Firefox on Windows XP and Vista? Unfortunately not.
At this point support for version 52 of the has ended. Unsupported browsers receive no security updates, have known exploits, and can be dangerous to use. How can I get the newest features of Firefox? If you want to keep your Firefox up to date, with all the latest features and updates, you'll need to upgrade your computer's operating system.
Upgrade to a Windows version that Microsoft still supports, such as Windows 7, 8 or 10. Windows versions that are not supported by Microsoft are unreliable and unsafe to use, which also makes it difficult to maintain Firefox on those versions. Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) plug-in for Mozilla browsers. Hi again Happy 112 and apologies for mixup earlier.
I am so pleased to have the latest version of Firefox for my incredible XP, of which the NHS in Britain still use along with many hundreds of businesses and end-users like me in the UK - plus as reported in national media recently 19,000 British Police computers too - so there must be something still to say for XP and I find it sad that 'brilliant' Mozilla Firefox is to stop supporting it. XP was simply ahead of its time AND, Firefox is simply the best browser by far.
Many thanks again, Samdy. Hi again Happy 112 and apologies for mixup earlier.
